My first brand new car was a 1999 Mustang GT. I bought it right off the showroom floor. It had 260 horsepower and I thought I was the fastest car in my town. Within six months, the horsepower wars had begun in earnest and I eventually had a mediocre car at best. I was sorely disappointed in that car and that was the last year for gas under $ 1.00 as well.

The 3.7L V6 was dropped and the 2.3L 4 cyl. Ecoboost (direct-injection turbocharged) engine now serves as the base power plant for the Mustang, producing 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque when using 93-octane fuel. The 5.0L V8 gets a power increase to 460HP and 420 lb.-ft. of torque.
Shelby versions are pushing 600+ HP. crazy. some of my friends have upgraded to the Shelby GT500, i'v;e driven a couple, crazy power, hard to keep the wheels from not spinning. LOL
We have 3 mustangs in our stable.

wny, great minds think alike. Or is it a case of fools rarely differ. I like the car. Also it's American made (or mostly).
Perhaps we can change to a GM car that closed 5 US plants whilst keeping all those Chinese and Mexican plants open. Large trucks are a protected market (25% import duty) and I think US made autos should be the same. That includes Tesla as long as you move those multi billion buck govt freebies. Of course, that would be the end of Tesla.
Look after your car, Ford are about to make everything X factor cars to keep costs down. 2019 are the last of the good Mustangs and do not eco anything, that is not the essence of what these cars are about.
