Oh come on CO, tell us how wonderful it will be to have your town covered in a sea of glass so MA residents can keep warm. We obviously need summer entertainment. The only alternative is for me to post a photo of my inflamed L5 disc which is still recovering from shoveling coal. You gotta give us choices.

Pfft...a good chunk already is covered with these stupid solar panels. The ones making out?....Green Mountain Power's leaders and stockholders of course.
What's that you say, you want solar power to power your home delivered by Green Mountain Power? No problem, we have a special rate for you, only another $.05/KWHr. Want cow power? Sure thing, just another $.05/KWHr
These idiots still sipping the KoolAid can't wait to sign up either. More money than brains.

No bot...
Just a retired person in WNY enjoying the good life after savings for
many years to do what we want.
We burn coal year round in a reverse flow European boiler where the
fire is directed downward and has better combustion efficiency .
The Bituminous coal I get from Valier Coal and some from the Berlin
PA area . I have two 30 ton bins which are about half full right now . I
am fairly far away so I get TT loads each time to save delivery costs .
Have a brand new never fired Warm Morning 400 coal stove that I am
saving for posterity , maybe I'll sell it cause I'm getting older . I had the
idea of building a stove similar to that and using the brand new bricks
as patterns , with much better heating efficiency, now will never happen.
As an early adopter of wind energy I was disappointed that these first
units never worked out, but we provided the funds for development of
the current wind generators. I have a Jacobs 15kw with a 100 foot tower
and a bad gearbox , also a new gearbox to replace it , but lost interest.
The wind energy business is in the larger equipment where the costs
to produce the energy is lower and the windmills can be made more
reliable , that's why my interest is now in solar , where an individual can
install and service the installation especially in areas where the panels
can be installed on ground racks ,not a 100' tower needing a crane for
all maintenance .

OR you got screwed so they could sell you an upgrade and then another upgrade etc....I know people who lost thousands also and they still find such excuses for bad decisions based on a philosophy for living.but we provided the funds for development of
the current wind generators.

Wow BB, you old British Bulldog, so all is revealed. A retired MI6 agent and Bond movie consultant keeping it under the radar.
Solar, wind, EVs, coal you are an early adopter and know the pains and pleasure. What is next an early Bentley? You need a counterfoil for that EV. When everyone is running one way I run the other. As the crowd runs to solar, EVs, SUVs, lux trucks I run the other way and find it is usually the right thing to do. .
Now about that Continental GC.......

Yes! Not running with the lemmings tends to greatly reduce the number of cliffs to fall off.coalnewbie wrote: ↑Mon. Jun. 25, 2018 6:05 amWow BB, you old British Bulldog, so all is revealed. Pikes peak hill climb... probably the end of petrol in the race for the records....

"Volkswagen took a car to the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with the intention of beating the record for fastest electric vehicle up the mountain, but it didn’t just beat that one. It also beat the all-time record—leaving both so far in the dust that all the dust had probably settled by the time they got there."
https://jalopnik.com/here-s-how-volkswagen-figure ... 1826866985
"Because the temporary paddock, located at more than 9,000 feet above sea level, does not have a suitable power supply, a conventional looking generator is used to produce the electricity required by Volkswagen Motorsport. However, unlike conventional generators, this one runs on Glycerol, rather than diesel."
Need a power line at the top of the mountain...
Wait for the 1000-2000 HP electrics in the future..

HP is only good if you can get it to the ground BB. Just like my friends RC car, which breaks every part in it between the motor and the ground, the larger one will be the same. High HP electrics have been around for 100+ years....why don't we have them in every car yet? I think we have been discussing them for weeks.

Don't forget the new electric mowers, I hear they will be a hot item in the near future.BigBarney wrote: ↑Thu. Jun. 21, 2018 11:14 amMini excavator all electric..... $0.42 per hour (really $0.85) per hour cost
to operate , diesel $9.61 per hour cost.

Here's your John Deere electric tractor...

I don't believe you can buy a large farm tractor that runs on gasoline way too expensive
to operate.
Future tractors....
Future trucks...
You can't hold back progress when your competitor is at your heels.

Yep, this old brit who served as a garbage pick man and church gardener is off to Newburgh in his Shelby (Ford mustang) GT350 and I am excited. Enjoy your EU autos. BASF the largest chemical co in the world has worked out that with NG prices 7x what everyone else is paying they don't have a business .... duh. Who cares about Rimac. Who is doing the maths over there? The only EU entity who is doing well is Italy who have worked out that cute blondes with enlarged mammary glands rule the world.
