Looks like they reinvented the diesel engine. Lighter, more power and increased efficiency.

I wonder how many years down the road it will be before this sees the light of day. And then how many years will the military hang onto it as their exclusive technology, before it winds up in publicly available pickup trucks and on up to 18 wheelers?
With the end of the combustion engine purportedly looming in about 20 years, who knows if it will ever see commercial and/or general (public) use?

The British & Germans both developed aircraft engines using the same layout/architecture in the '30's it's not new. What is new are the digital controls on the engine.
