Granson got a 2000 chevy K2500 4x4,crew cab, big block. Asked me to help him paint it..... First things first, cab corners, fleetside repair panels, some rocker work... Got him a DA orbital sander, 2 short rolls 3M 220, 400 grit stik it paper. This morning we nuded it down, mouldings off, grill out, front bumper off, razored off all pinstriping, factory decals, window visors, and badges. got a different hood, so let him work on Da'in it to start. Chit paint job on it, clear got all pocked... so need some heavier grit to take it down to primer. Hes getting better, but its ok.. will 2k epoxy prime entire truck. But he can block sand putty to fill minor dings and such as i work on metal work. Bad side... will take a lot of paint, because its crew cab(1.5 gal aprox) single stage..Paints not cheap, hardners big pricey!!
will block sand all primer before painting, after shadowing with a red primer, so low spots show better, high spots.... well so far not many i can feel running hand over.. but time will tell.

got to admire.... GSons willing to try to learn... i told him its a lot of work.. basic sanding all... lower body takes. more... road Chit damage, then, fix weld panels... then resand, the sand again... then be sure alls good for what you want.. then i paint. Highs/lows... prime fill, block sand over aand over...it works.

Rear beds is done...more than less. Did run this morning to get coal stove...about 1PM.. i said wipe it down to paint..IF your ok with body work, you(we my supervision) is ok with you. So he wiped it down to paint. I painted. I told him 4 weeks ago i will SHOW you what to do, in small areas, and how it works Body line blening, welding was all on me... but everything elses is on Him. 17 year old Gran son. He's learning... and realizes its not just stuff and pack. One side of bed wheel arch instal i screwed up with chiity core flux wir, changed it, but puckers were there, and he did best he could. But he's hapy with a solid bed again. Luxo Blue...933L GM paint code..shitty low hiding color.........!!!!!!!!
