Boy are we off topic , but here goes....Richard: maybe we need an energy forum ?
Or perhaps posters should not start six gazillion new topics about essentially the same thing.

That said I'm only concerned about topics going off topic a little in the forums for coal as that is the focus of this site.

Even though coal is our main focus all forms of energy could be discussed in

a forum for energy. It is up to the moderator to end a thread when it goes astray.

In the general interest topic we need an energy thread to be able to post what is

currently happening and open a forum. This would be better than all those posts

in car, trucks etc. that are way on the fringe of the title.

I will never complain as this is provided at your pleasure and I will always appreciate

the opportunity to state facts and not only opinion which has no basis.

And who's facts are you promoting? You seem quite full of yourself and your grand illusions about energy. Tell me all about it when it comes to fruition. Until then stop making it harder for me to get conventional forms of energy and stop spending tax dollars for your visions. At least Branson is spending his own money. Unlike Elon spending our money....or Solyndra and on and on.

Been there, done that. This forum has gone through many many phases over the nearly 20 years it has been in existence and I'm quite happy with how it is configured now. If anything there is too many sections.

Mntbugy:

Flooded mine shafts for geothermal heat.
https://www.shieldsgazette.com/news/politics/coun ... es-3305066

I hadn't seen this article but now people in eastern PA with many flooded

mines could utilize this same idea. A large solar field could charge a section

of a mine with heat and be a new source of either energy or used for heating

or DHW for many years to come at a low price and using low cost technology.

That is probably the reason they did patent it, in the hopes someone does steal it so they can sue. These big companies, in particular tech companies, file ridiculous amounts of broad patents each year. There is usually no intention of using the tech but it will present the opportunity for licensing and/or a lawsuit if someone else does. Keep in mind, some of the litigation in the Apple vs. Samsung lawsuit a few years back had to do with roundness of corners. Specifically on the device and icons on the screen.

An option is to park out on the street 200 feet away from anything combustible and charge it overnight with a 25KW Diesel Genset.

Problem solved.

Back to the flat tow charging thing. Looks like Ford needs a little more time on the drawing board to pull that off.

If they would just bury them where they stop the problem would be solved quicker.
