You have to figure out that your already paying for 500 Petrol fires a DAY on your

insurance , per the NFPA.

Even the Chevy Bolt EV that's in the news every day has had ~ 10 fires in 5 years of

production.

We are driving our Bolt every day and enjoying the savings. You have to take some

risks in life to enjoy it.

Cost comparison of petrol to electric. Gasoline @ $3.35 gallon and electric @ 0.13 per

KwHr .

Cost per 100 miles Petrol getting 33mpg and electric getting 4 miles per KwHr.

Petrol @ $10.05 cost ------- Electric @ $3.25 .... Save $6.80 on every 100 miles.

On my off peak electric my cost is $1.37 for 100 miles saving $8.67 @ $0.055 per

KwHr.

Less than $0.0137 per mile, so $13.70 per 1000 miles compared to $100.50 for

petrol.

This might be the only intelligent thing you have said in many posts.....That is why I and many others will not be getting the jab or any follow up jabs.... :P

Out of the hundreds of millions of gasoline vehicles made over the past 5 years, spontaneously catching fire directly related to the gasoline is probably 0. Fires related to gasoline are almost always the result of a crash, very old vehicle or both.

The one site I see lists 17 fires, 17 in 100K vehicles is not a very good calculated risk.

When it was said and done I wouldn't doubt electric is cheaper than gasoline but this hardly a fair comparison. You can start off with the road use taxes, there is numerous other taxes that would need to be accounted for as well.

An easy way to make the comparison more fair would be a road use tax for all

vehicles by weight and have a separate tax on the carbon in the fuels used.

These are really 2 separate needs 1 to maintain the roads and 2 is to maintain

our planet. All vehicles would pay both fees .

Fuels that have a high carbon content and produce the most CO2 would be

charged the most and lower carbon fuels would pay less.

BB should be in anytime now, crowing about the advancement of public buses run by unicorn farts.

Terrible that the fleecing of the public is so open and obvious.
