Would need to switch it over to coal to pass the emissions test for our state vehicle inspection. :D

The real question is, does it burn cords per mile, or miles per cord of wood? :D

He just didn't take it far enough. The stove should be replaced with a woodgas generator, he could run the car's engine off the exhaust from heater instead of buying gasoline. If you're not familiar with syngas here is a FEMA link that explains it. BTW, during WW2 Germany ran buses and tanks, for training purposes not in battle, on woodgas.

W&C,You read my mind like a dirty book....... For some reason I'd pictured Smits with a 5 gallon can of gas and a road flare..... I don't think he ever really cottoned up to that Volvo !! :smoke: :blowup:

I think he needs to get a little coal burner in the back seat, maybe one of them little Jotul stoves, with a really big baro damper.
