I have an 05 GMC with a Duramax LLY. No trouble until this month when the fuel injector control module (ficm) failed. This part is no longer available from GM or any part suppliers. Options are scrap yard parts which are few and pricey, $2,000+ or remove and send to a rebuilder, 4 to 8 week turn. Just looked at a ficm on amazon for a 7.3 Ford powerstroke for $54.95. I've been a GM man all my life, but maybe it's time to leave. Never should have bailed them out.
If its any constellation I would never trust an amazon FICM I own 2 6L powerstroke a FICM for them is around $800

Thanks for the website. I did find one there about 35 miles from me, $2,000. Just got a call from the mechanic that has been working on it, and it's running fine now, but he's not sure why. He's still checking connections, grounds etc. but it looks like the FICM is probably OK, so that's good. That's a great website, got just about everything you would ever need. So I gotta take back everything bad I said about GM, well most everything. Thanks again.

Ive used that site for I think almost 20 years. Bought lots of parts using it. The only issue Ive had at all is the grading some yards do but thats not the websites fault.

Still waiting to test drive the f-150 i put a deposit on. The truck came out of detail this morning and is getting serviced and new inspection and emissions. I got some pics, it looks nice.
Salesman trying to sell me a warranty and the price is nuts! $2300 for a 3/36 powertrain warranty lol.

You should get the contract for the warranty and post it here for a look-see.

I guess those Ford Maverick hybrid pickups are hard to find. One guy claims hes getting 77mpg ,his meter must be broke. Rated at 37mpg.Still not bad but the 4ft box is a deal breaker for me. Just an oversized grocery hauler with a box that small. None available in my area.

I can't even find one to test drive to see if I like it to order one. Better anyway, the maverick won't hold much coal, maybe 900 pounds before the bed is overflowing.
paying cash for this 2011 f-150 if it drives decent. The ford dealer selling it has no mavericks for test drives I must have called 10 dealers looking for a test drive.

My sister was looking into one but same result. Wound up paying the same amount as Maverick MSPR for a 7 yr old Toyota Tacoma with 130k on the clock. Although finding a maverick at starting MSRP is probably very wishful thinking. Ford must not be making much money om them as they dont seem to be concerned with the supply availability.

They lose money on them. I just saw on the news that they lost 3 billion on EV last year. The cost of the batteries is killing them. But they made 10 billion on commercial truck sales.

I haven't crawled around on a Ford Maverick. Several reports I have read remarked that the construction and paint quality is very low. Especially if you take a look at the underside. They're arriving on lots with rust in the pinch welds and mufflers covered in rust. Obviously not a stainless muffler but maybe not even aluminized?

Of the 5 or 6 million Ford Escorts sold just in the US, Ford lost an average of $500 on every one of them. Like all US made small cars, it was all about hitting the old 22.0 to 27.5 mpg CAFE fuel economy rule. Then sell Canadian made Crown Vic's so they were not figured into the CAFE pool figures.

Saw a video of a maverick with a defective wiring harness, also saw the video of the rusting exhaust and thin body seams.

But the Crown Victoria got excellent fuel economy!
24 highway. I have seen 26 mpg, We rented a brand new grand marquis in 1989 for a week trip to Virginia beach. My 5.0 HO converted 86 Town Car with 3.73 gears gets 22 mpg highway.

Not sure a Maverick would be considered an EV.,its just a hybrid with a small propulsion assist battery like a Prius. The would probably be better served to charge little more for Mavericks and make a few more of them to meet huge demand demand, rather than let the dealer mark them way up. Their starting MSRP is about the same as a 7 yr old Tacoma is selling for right now.
