. Look around next time you are on the road. All you see are SUVs and pickup trucks. We don't learn. Every oil crisis we run towards higher oil consumption instead of away from it.
We have 4 vehicles one of which gets 40MPG the wife bought for commuting to work. None of the other 3 get more than 20MPG ,needless to say they haven't been used much lately.

I need a Ford EV just what I need running out of power with my trailer full of horses
HAHAHAHAHAHA
They should just state the towing range 1/3 of non towing range and be done with it. Also winter or cold weather range is lower as well perhaps 60 to 70% of optimal range. Most folks buy diesels who do a lot of towing as even gas engines are not ideal for towing ,getting horrible MPG.

Yep, you can have my Ford 2000 7.3 dually when you pry it from my cold dead hands.

Chester NY to Ocala Fl back and forth for 10 winters. Towing (illegally) 6 horses say 15000 pounds... 14 mpg of very careful driving. Horses don't like race track drivers. 5" Gale banks exhaust as the engine needs to breathe. Feds closed it down to 4 inches for noise limits. Upgraded turbo/intake. ... and on and on and on. No rust as it was in FL. Now it just picks up plywood from Lowes.

14MPG with a huge load and sometimes 15 empty. That is why diesels rule for working.

Good video. It wasnt just bashing electric, it was explaining its good and bad points, with the bad being towing something.

and if I am not towing anything use my Ford Mustang GT350 and get roughly the same efficiency but a lot more fun. However, never an EV

My favorite exhaust story is about the time we had to haul a John Deere 4430 from Chazy to Cobleskill in January. The morning we had to leave it was -20F, so we decided to just let the tractor run on the way down. 4" straight pipe right off the turbo, it barked pretty good - much louder than the 5.9 Cummins in the Dodge truck. We got off the interstate and were stopped beneath an overpass and some guys pulled up next to us and yelled "That Dodge sure sounds mean!"

Can a horse run in circles fast enough to charge an electric car magnetically?

Cool story Rob. I was thinking the story would end with cops pulling you over for noise.

Why not charge at home??? Much cheaper....Have 8 hours from 11pm-7am..

In 8 hours with a Bolt EV and level 2 charging you get 56 KWHr of energy

that will replenish your 66 KWHr battery from 11% to 100% overnight...

Ready for ~250 miles of range in summer and 180 miles in winter.

How many of you drive more than 100 miles per day if your not truck

drivers?

Can your fuel station pump gas without electricity???

Most people drive 40 miles a day... Or 14,600 miles per year or less...

my son is set up with charging his hybrid kia sorento from his 9 kw solar system. He is likely going to buy a electric pick up truck and it will be charged from electric harvested from his 9 kw photovoltaics.

When the laws change he will then look to keep his excess power rather than sell it to the grid as the utilities state is at the "lowest wholesale average price for the year "which is a very small amount of money better to keep it.

Crude could be free - but if you can't refine enough of it, demand will command a high price for the finished product.
Here in SW Maine, the price of diesel has dropped to $4.40/gal. Our former governor said his contacts in the heating oil industry have told him price for that product will hit over $7/gal so diesel fuel will probably be in the same ballpark. Heating oil supply is at a 8 year low in the NE. Have heard report of massive amounts of trees are being cut in Germany for use in fireplaces and woodstoves. We are getting squeezed on all sides.

The wholesale price is low while the retail price is high. Nice gig.

That sound like the perfect way to use solar to me.

As I said two years ago. with three Phili refineries closed on emissions nonsense and no more huge Russian ships filling our tanks in Newburgh, I said where is our HO coming from. Well now we know it is not coming from anywhere ... hug your coal pile forget your loved ones (sorry Freddie)

The former governor said Maine gets most of its heating oil from Canada.
