So the new law gives a $7500 credit for buying a new EV and Ford raised the price of the Lightning $8500 this past week. Your just handing Ford the credit and the law is worse than nothing as your actually paying taxes to cover the credit Ford gets.

Quote from the article followed by link to the article:
This past week, Ford announced that prices for the 2023 Lightning will now range from about $47,000 to $97,000 — a jump of $8,500 for some models. That effectively erases much of the purchasing power granted by the fresh tax credit on offer from the government for purchasing a new E.V., worth up to $7,500.

I get a little bit pale and sweaty when I see my work computer 'wants to do an update'...I can't wait till my drive to work has to be 'non-negotiatabely' updated. You watch, the US is already starting the facial recognition systems that monitor citizens to give them a 'ranking'/status to determine what they're approved to buy and do (like China). So you spoke out a little too much in the school board meeting? Or you went to an 'unapproved' business? Sorry, we're shutting down your vehicle till you go blow on some windmills or pedal on the e-charge bike for three hours to power the local school, you need to do some good for your naughty bad...before you get back your stuff...

Maybe a rant, maybe a long winded fear, but since when has 'constant meddling' from a manufacturer seemed to help? I just read an article how large scale farmers are having issues with their new machinery, due to the heavy programming and digital end of 'autonomous' driven farm equipment, manufacturers don't want farmers fixing their own stuff. Do you think that's going to work long term? Only if you want to be paying $15 for a gallon of milk.....plus 'updates' don't come free, very many softwares are now 'subscription' only. You can't buy it outright, you have to rent it monthly...

As an afterthought, does TESLA still have the attractive maintenance and electric charging fees of $0 that I was told about?

Sooooo what your saying is , when the government gives out money for “stuff”, the prices of the “stuff” go up as well?!! I’m sure glad they passed the inflation bill to combat this pesky lil issue. Friggen joke.

Yes it is a joke! Imagine all the money grabbing that is going to happen with the funds from the green part of that bill.
