Happy fall y'all!
I spent a decent amount of time in the woods this fall. Saw a LOT of deer.
We own a rural, completely wooded, 100 acre tract of land in southern KY near the TN line. It is surrounded by about 2000 acres of posted land with some small family farms but mostly undeveloped property. The back side of our land borders Corp of Engineers property for a 29,000 acre lake used for flood control.
The wildlife in this part of the state has really flourished.
Was fortunate enough to take a nice buck during modern gun season the weekend before Thanksgiving. I had seen him a couple of different times during gun season but could never get a shot at him because of the dense tree cover in this area. I hit him on the move just at daybreak about 30 yards out as he came through about a 10' opening in the trees.
He's a nice big bodied 9 pointer. The one pic shows him hanging behind my truck to give some perspective.
Got a doe with a bow about 4 weeks ago.
Going for another doe during muzzle loader in a couple of weeks for the hat trick... LOL
