this is going to be slow, and tedious. everything has to be hand fitted to frame, and slide to frame. Got a bunch of new files(small), ceramic sticks, and lots of wet/dry paper for sanding. for shaping/ blending/smoothing.

A felt tip pen could be very handy to run a line to show the high spots.

Beaver tail grip safety's fitted to frame for function w /Trigger. Now its time to get on milling machine, mill frame top deck, slide slots & barrel rest. Then a lot of stone/file/sanding to final fit slide to frame last .0007 thousands.

Barrel bushing to barrel fit. hours of sanding, barrel has a larger end on it in battery position, bushing hand sanded to fit it snuggly. Will be happy with 2" groups at 30 yards. A lot of sanding started with 150 wet/dry grit wet, and worked down to 800 grit when it finally slid together.
Now its fit bushing to slide.. Same process.- wilder11354

Only .0025" to get bushing fitted to slide... Taking off material from SS slide... SS is a PITA to sand..wet or dry... using 150Grit..ITS a slow......slow....process. once within .0010" willl step grits down to get finish polish.
It will be worth it when your done, looking good...wilder11354 wrote:Only .0025" to get bushing fitted to slide... Taking off material from SS slide... SS is a PITA to sand..wet or dry... using 150Grit..ITS a slow......slow....process. once within .0010" willl step grits down to get finish polish.

2.5 mils is rather thick ... will take some time doing by hand. Its just # of passes really, not brute strength.wilder11354 wrote:Only .0025" to get bushing fitted to slide... miked slide. miked bushing..... borrowed an adjustable reamer, put bushing on it, chucked in drill and turned it using drill, low rpm speed. started with 150 grit worked it down to 800 grit wet sanding.. Bushing fits all the way down snug and locks in, no looseness, will polish it a bit more with 1200 and ceramic stone.
