I purchased the build kit from palmetto state, and I purchased the lower through my local dealer. Got like 500 in the bare bones before optics or anything, and of coarse the silly mag lock that NYS requires... it’s a very tight build, shoots a tight group also.

I'm interested to know what is considered a "tight group" with such rigs ?

Bought or built? I really want to get one but have yet to pull the trigger but at that price it's a no brainer if I knew where to go?
Use gundeals dot com. Often in the past there are complete lowers for $89-$129. Then add a complete upper for $149+

The bottom end has the poly receivers... You might want to go up$15 or so for the metal ones.

Milstd is 5MOA is I recall correctly. Or 5 inches at 100 yards with a 10 shot group

I'd argue anything half that or better is fairly tight.

Palmetto is good, many others.

You can buy a complete upper and a separate complete lower. Takes 5 seconds to put together.

Or you gave buy part kits... I'd suggest buying the complete upper and parts for the lower. With YouTube and 45 minutes with $20 in tools, you can do. The upper really should have a torque wrench for the barrel nut but not required.

After you put a few together... It takes 10 minutes.

I was at a local gunsmith and saw what he now manufactures as a CT legal AR. Anything here with a detachable box magazine is banned if it has one other imaginary dangerous feature. He simply fixes the mag to the lower and you just split it and load with a stripper clip. And if you move out of the communist utopia, you can just drill out the lock and it has a detachable mag. Gun nuts! They'll find a way.

No, My stock out of the box AR will do 1 inch at 100. That is .5 at 50. No special ammo, no special trigger which is awful......

Depends on the shooter, I have a new scope on mine that I have yet to sight in, I’ll let you know when I do.

I used to load my own but since moving south have not had a place to shoot. Working on that now, but am getting rusty and my reloading gear is in storage.....
