Anyone else watch it last night? I thought it was pretty good. 18 million people watched.
Roseanne is an avid Trump supporter on the show.(and in real life) Her sister on the show voted for the Green Party. Their one daughter moved back home and has a young son who dresses like a girl but is not gay. The other daughter is trying to be a surrogate mother for cash. It really covered the political spectrum, the arguments they had, and the picking on each other. Kind of reminded me of the All in the Family Show on steroids as they can never get along but still love each other and tolerate/accept each other. Nice to see a show that isnt all politically correct, at least for me. Im sure many saw it otherwise, perhaps.
Heres one writers view if you didnt watch it and you will have to click the view more button to read it all. https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/can-roseanne-save-america/

Just watched it on ABC.
Kind of fun to see the old characters, but going back is not the same. The magic of a different time and genre does not come through. They try too hard to capture what in reality is like trying to grasp a moonbeam.
The plot twists are clever but overly so and overplayed in case you might not get it. It just underscores that each decade has its own stamp and going back is not possible, or wise.

We'll all have to wait a few weeks and see how their ratings are to see if they pull it off longer than their 1st show. Compared to most of the comedies on right now I'd say its funnier than most of them. So many people watch the decades old reruns of various shows instead of newer shows and there is a good reason for that... me included.

I was just reading those in power at the networks are considering other reboots. The 2nd Roseanne show had more viewers than the 1st one (there were 2 shows back to back last night). Last Man Standing was just cancelled and Middle is leaving after this year. They are 2 shows that appeal to Roseanne viewers.
Im not sure about new Andy Griffith shows... you might have a long wait MA!
Murphy Brown might do alright. maybe they need more shows with cranky obnoxious women in the lead role if both shows do well.

Yes, and it shows how great an actor Carroll Oconner was as he was not like that in real life. MMoore might work as he would kind of be playing himself He'd be the stooge of the show...

Well, we will never know how it would have done next year. Cancelled because of her tweet. I bet the network is angry as it was one of their biggest shows.
