Thanx to the media.--media-"his heart wouldn't stop even when it was time"--they know right???? Daughters reply-nothing about that nonsense, just that "he was surrounded by family & loved ones". Good for her! Any white boxers get this kinda fanfare???? Gonna be another drug free whitney?????????// what a shame on the POS media. YES, he was an outstanding boxer, the man had flair! :) Started this thread so as not to disrespect the original post. Take it for what it's worth!!! Just an old farmers thoughts.

I don't think he ever embarrassed himself or his family. Not many in public life can say that. As far as white boxers????

The media must highlight this so they can steer people away from the real news, just like with the gorilla story.

Many years back I recall him saying how Marciano was the greatest (for his time). In that he was referencing how rules have changed, he & Rocky had jokingly spared around a bit & said how hard Rocky could still punch. They did a computer matched bout between the two & it was explained by him that he would win by todays rules for bleeding if he could last long enough for the fight to be stopped.

you arent saying the media embellished the story are you? They are ambulance chasers and chase the one with the largest crowd behind it.

George Foreman did a wonderful interview this morning on CBS. I wish they would stick to that kind of media work.

BS, you call it? This is no BS, just an eloquent statement about a black man’s refusal to participate in one of the worst, most criminal wars ever waged by this country.

I ain’t draft dodging. I ain’t burning no flag. I ain’t running to Canada. I’m staying right here. You want to send me to jail? Fine, you go right ahead. I’ve been in jail for 400 years. I could be there for 4 or 5 more, but I ain’t going no 10,000 miles to help murder and kill other poor people. If I want to die, I’ll die right here, right now, fightin’ you, if I want to die. You my enemy, not no Chinese, no Vietcong, no Japanese. You my opposer when I want freedom. You my opposer when I want justice. You my opposer when I want equality. Want me to go somewhere and fight for you? You won’t even stand up for me right here in America, for my rights and my religious beliefs. You won’t even stand up for my right here at home.

I think Ali was a great boxer and appreciated him for that and his showmanship; nothing more, nothing less.

Everyone is flawed, I don’t like shitting on the dead.

Thank you G. Some people think they get a pass on all that respect stuff. You know, the anointed few. :(
