Earlier this year I was talking to someone from Delaware and the topic of “what’s your favorite ice cream?” came up. I thought about it and said “teaberry” and he was dumbfounded. I later checked in with professor Google and found that teaberry ice cream is a Pennsylvania thing and not sold elsewhere. Since the coal forum is such a well-travelled and well informed group I thought I would have a poll.

Teaberrys are growing beside my driveway. They are pretty tasty, you have to fight the chipmunks to get any. Tastes like wintergreen lifesavors.
Here is a post that will deliver Teaberry ice cream.

When I use to backpack (uhm, last century  ) I use to pick both Wintergreen and Teaberry berries. There is a difference. I recall they looked very similar but tasted different. One variety had white colored scallops along the main leaf vein. I'd love to try teaberry ice cream. Anybody have any suggestions as to where to find it?

Just tasted a white wintergreen berry , it tasted better to me than a red teaberry.
Sheep *censored* berries a.k.a. Huckleberry not ripe yet.

Teaberry would make a better ice cream.

Wild blueberries are ready.

I've got teaberry ice cream in the freezer right now. I get it at Weis Markets. One of my favorites. Dennis

Here's a picture. It's the color of the old Clarks Teaberry chewing gum. Dennis

I had some teaberry last week at the local ice cream shop. It was hand dipped and I believe they sell Hershey’s. I was hoping to get soft serve teaberry but it is a feature flavor and they were featuring something else last week.

I never knew Weis had their own house branded teaberry but I don’t get to a Weis Markets too often.

In stores I have found teaberry made by Hershey’s (not the chocolate company), Leiby’s and Yuengling’s (made by Leiby’s as I recall but I can’t find confirmation on the internet anywhere so this is hearsay for now)
In ice cream shops I had teaberry from Turkey Hill, Hershey’s Heisler’s, Leiby’s and Sunset.

Thanks for the replies, and when in central PA have some teaberry ice cream and a slice of shoo-fly pie.

A place just outside montoursville pa, Edders ice cream. Little creamery where they make everything in house. Teaberry only comes second to coconut fruit!
