Anyone have any good venison recipes?

My brother in law gave me a very good simple recipe.

Take a couple of venison steaks and pound them to about 1/4"

Make a 50/50 mix of soy sauce and maple syrup. Enough to cover the steaks.

Marinate the steaks overnight then throw on the grill.

I just slice them up and cook them in olive oil and KC steak seasoning on the grill.

Here are a few from the Wyeth-Ayerst employees cook book. I have not tried these particular recipes, but the other recipes I have tried from this cookbook have been excellent. It was sure a great group of people to work with.

I like the taste of venison too much to add any flavoring except a dash of salt, Fried of course. Im a boring cook to watch ;) I'd rather eat venison than beef or pork any day of the week.

That is how we had if for years growing up.....fried to shoe leather. Age has brought a much more savory experience.

Im afraid of it after reading about the Zombie deer with the brain wasting (mad cow). Even cooking it dont change the danger if it has that. PA is not one of the states on the list for it but im still a little worried. Wife makes a great stew with it.

Take two 1” thick steaks. Allow to come to room temp. Pat dry with a paper towel. Salt and pepper to taste. Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Heat your grill to 500 degrees to seer. Place on grill for 90 seconds. Flip and leave for another 90 seconds. Place on pan in oven until internal temp reaches 130*. Open a cold beer and Enjoy...
