"We Serve A Merciful God"......... Well,Yeah.... ! I even take it on Good Fact that He's even got a Sense Of Humor ! Hell,He let's my paltry buttox exist,so there's Your Proof !

Now,before We expound more on the Faith, let's get to the Secular.... Pain Meds, while addicting, are a tool to remove what I call "Body Crunch" from happening when You're trying to Heal. Yes,it's True. However, with what You and I know regarding the Haunting Spectre of Addiction,We,and others in Medical Attendence have to keep a Watchful Eye on their consumption rate and length of use... Relax,Use Your Head. You already know that it's OK to hurt, just not the kind of hurt that causes You to jump through a plate glass window...==..Don't laugh, that one came straight from a Guy that was ready to do it due to the pain.

Now,on matters more positive, keep Your Life's Gameplan handy and be able to reference it at a moments glance. It comes in handy. Let's see what Your Prognosis is. It would be nice to see,Years' from now,on Your Death Certificate, under Cause Of Death-"One Too Many Birthdays".............

Let's Roll This,Mistah !!

18Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Praying for a quick recovery, follow the Dr's orders, give yourself time to heal.

i declare that you will live and not die, shall multiply goodness, justice and mercy in the earth and enjoy length of days.

rest, be wise, love, laugh.

Trying not to get bummed out about it, but I went for a check up at the Dr and got double-bad news.

The first is that that surgical site is indeed infected.

Then i found out I have cancer.

If that was not bad enough I came home to a dark house again. We had gale blow through on Sunday night and knocked the power out, along with tons of roof shingles, barn doors, trees, and phone lines, but the power company came by and fixed our road. The only problem was the wind blew our powerline/telephone line off the house and it ruined the transformer. So with so many lines to fix, individual homes will be the last ones that get power restored.

I wanted more sheep, but I am not sure I wanted to get more of them the same way Job did! :-)

Just hang in there No Smoke, when things seem their darkest there will always come light. Things happen for a reason, we all have cancer cells just waiting for some unknown thing that triggers them for some it comes soon & others it never does. Still yet others beat it only to have it pop up somewhere else, just keep the faith & trust.

Look at the bright side...
It was not -10 and blowing snow sideways...
with 15 foot snow drifts... ;)
Infections happen, they will clean it up...
You probably knew it was infected before you went back...
Others might have blown it off...
There are all kinds of cancers...
Some are more easily beaten back than others...
So find out all you can and come up with a battle plan...
Ya got those girls to take care of...
Kids are a powerful force...
When I was in ICU for 8 days...
On Deaths Doorstep...
The thought of 3 fatherless kids...
And all the stuff I would miss out on...
Was a big reason I got my head back in the game...

NoSmoke -

I have been following your situation since the beginning but time is never on my side and I was apprehensive of making a quick, hasty reply. Tonight I take exception.

I am a fellow believer in the Almighty Lord we serve and It's great to know there are some of us on the forum here. Keep your head up bud, and I mean keep looking to the heavens and seeking God in all of this. I'm not sure how I would react to hearing the word cancer, so it may be easy for me to say as an outsider looking in. Just know that he has this and no matter the end result, you win as a child of the most high.

He led me through spine surgery this passing Summer and onto a full recovery in 2/3 of the time that it normally takes. I'm in no way comparing my situation to yours though as mine was likely a lot easier to go through. I just want to point out that I am certain my faith in his power was what kept me going through the rough days.

I am praying for you as I have been since this thread started and mostly that is for you to have the peace that passes all understanding as you go forward. Please keep us updated and excuse me on my failure to not reply sooner.
