in the predawn hrs. this morning my 86 y.o. Mother had a cardiac complication of some sort. Dad took her to the ER, lots of tests.
she has been transported to the area top care facility for this and will have either a stint or more invasive procedure this after noon / evening.
not entirely unexpected, she has been treated with Dilantin (sp) for epilepsy since her 20's. that stuff is very good at what it does but is also well known for causing deep organ complications resulting from decades of use.
there have been better days.................................

many thanks and great apprec. to all who commented or privately considered our situation.
my Mom was found to have what is appears to be a long term muscle / flesh mass virtually total blockage in her heart that is accompanied by some sort of "natural bypass" that the surgeons were quite astonished at having never been detected or caused issues before. she also had a "new" lesser blockage that required a stint and that was taken care of right then.
she has gone to a general care ward to stay the night and will go home tomorrow, i'll see her at home tomorrow evening.
the surgeon said he will re-examine her at her local hospital in 4-5 days.
a fine finish to a wracking day
