Get a stool softener NOW before you need it - from experience with the same surgery 1-1/2 years ago.

Heal well and comfortably!

G, I agree with the stool softener and also it may help if you eat something then take the pain meds. Hard candy or chewing gum if you can.

About 9yrs ago I had a Blowout. I was at my office desk and felt some strange discomfort in the lower pelvic region, after a little self discovery I noticed the bulge. I had no idea wtf it was but a quick google search led me to believe I had developed a hernia.

I waited a few days because....well it did'nt hurt that bad and it just freaked me but being a guy I kinda let it go. My general practioner examined it..sure enough my google diagnoses was correct and set up an appointment with a specialist for the following week.

Seriuosly...it went away.,No kidding. I went for my appointment and the specialist was a little amazed. He could tell a hernia happened but there were no other signs of it left . So in the course of 10 days POOF...gone.
The Doc was incredulous, he'd never actually seen that happen before but he was convinced since he read my Doctors write-up and the fact that he could feel the rupture zone.

Anywhoo...never had an issue since.

Sorry to hear yours didn't go as easy as mine.....I win. :D
