As many of you know my son was given 2 CUT tractors.

Well, I walked out the porch this morning to look over the creek and look what popped up after last nights rain. They’re multiplying and this is a little bigger in size.

Anyone care to guess?

Narrow front end - it is probably as old as Freetown Fred!

Hopefully the paint matches the grass.

My son now owns three tractors, but this one is the first one he has actual possession of. The first two CUT tractors are about 45 minutes away from our house and we’ve been working on them. One runs, but brakes are locked up and needs a clutch. The other is getting a good cylinder soak with the 50/50 kerosene and transmission fluid. We thought it was locked up but it was hydro locked and we had to pull the injectors. She’s been soaking for over a week now.

My son has been working for a farmer friend, who’s called me twice to tell me he’s a very talented young man and a hard worker. He said he’s working out fine.

Well, my son’s been an “old soul” for all of his 16+ years and we’re so thankful for that…feeling blessed. Anyway, I could ramble on here, but let me just say my son has saved his money, worked hard to earn more…and he could do and get into far worse things than tractors as a hobby. Yep…I think I’ll support his endeavors in this and his decision making. He could be into far worse.

Two real good guesses, Rob.

Since model year production started in September this one was number 49 for the year model 1945 and was built in 1944…making this a wartime tractor.

Not sure if paint is original but it for sure has its work clothes on. Starts easy, idles great and runs smooth, does NOT smoke, and has as near a new pair of work boots on as you can get.

Theres nothing that sounds as nice doing field work. For safety sake get some fenders on it, original or not. That'll give his future girlfriend somewhere to sit too, and any girl that doesnt want to sit on it might as well stay home  An old tractor or old truck weeds out the bad girlfriends ;)

Nice job with the videos.

Its just so true! The only thing worse would be a girl/lady who doesnt like or want to fish. If they bait their own hook its bonus points.

I lost my Grandpa on an old tractor so Im more careful with them as the manufacturers at that time put safety last. I have a 1938 Oliver 70 that I disc with twice a year. Old tractors rule.
