Not yet BUT---been out mowin pastures all morning--might finish up later or even tomorrow--44* this AM--88* as we speak stayin real warm till next Tues. then night temps back in mid to low 30's all week--not quite ready to shut down the old HITZER--probably be runnin 20 lbs. per day. Yep, window stats for sure--I can idle the old girl down pretty well. On that mowin the pastures--I use an old "Ford 8 N" --nope no AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also pulled my 70's Wheel horse out of the shed--she started right up after sittin all fall/winter--I have always added MM oil before puttin all my machines up--as long as the battery's not shot ( usually get 3-4 yrs) we're good to go. Well, done typing & eatin lunch. Now I'm mobile with the Wheel Horse, soooo off to see what kinda mess the old lady son made of things! Always scary when somebody says ""I'm gonna organize your maintenance shed" :what:

Yup, I spend more time searching for things in the spring that were organized in the winter.

Good afternoon. 75 and sunny here, no snow drifts in sight! You are way ahead of us on the mowing. I usually don’t mow until mid May, but maybe this year will be a bit earlier. I fired the mower up at lunch time and fogged out half of Chazy with blue smoke. My neighbor came over to see what the story was. I told him it was an old Indian trick, MMO in the gas!

GW base heater has been out for a week. I let the range go out yesterday.

The yard has gotten overrun with black walnut saplings. Got one of those one-handed 8 inch electric chain saws and been cutting down some saplings to stove lengths. Figure if I need some heat next week, I can also give the stoves some green wood rust prevention coating, too.

I started mowing here 2 weeks ago. Needs a 3rd mowing today, but it won't stop raining lately. Good thing I work 2nd so I can hit it in the late AM before work. Usually isn't as dry as I'd like it by that time, but gotta do what you gotta do. Deck is pretty heavy on my Husqvarna anyway.

I put some "Lee-press-on" wheel covers on her to dress it up a bit.

Need a week of dry windy hot to get the ground back in shape for mowing around here. The ground doesn't drain well. Hard pan.

You must have quite a mowing job ahead of you. I can see the grass growing from the kitchen window.

Haven't mowed yet. Like Fred, I was going to a week ago but the rains beat me to it.

Now it's No-Mow-May. :D

Got a call from the Mayor last year. A neighbor didn't like my long grass in May and complained to Village Hall. He never heard of NoMowMay to help the bees.

Idiot cuts down all his trees then in hot weather has to sit on the property line in the shade of my trees. Never thought I'd be the nature lover in this part of town. :D

Thanks, Fred! That's an older pic - almost 10 years older. She ain't as purrty anymore, lol. Still does the job, though!

We're at that stage of the year where I should be mowing 3x per week. That ain't happenin' this week with all this rain! I think we've got over 3" in the past 7 days. The swamp out back is full, so won't be mowing that until June or July. :x

Looking at next week. More rain midweek so no drying in the near future. One step forward and 2 steps back.
