Probably around 500 lbs.--they'll get up to a good 1000--1500 lbs.
1500lbs??? OMGosh!!
When someone asks you about your feet, Fred, you can tell them the horses stepped on them.
My uncle was in the engineers union nearly 25 years and get this…he was born with no hands. Had stubs for hands. Like two fingers joined together just below the elbows. Could run everything but a grader (his words), but I knew better. He could take a Nylon 77 and knock a squirrels eye out at 50 yards with iron sights. No kidding! I seen him do it.
Sitting around the table one turkey day with all the family when out of nowhere unks little boy asked daddy what happened to his hands. Could’ve heard a pin drop in the house, grandma looking at her son just waiting to see what he’d say. It had never been brought up before, by anyone. Time seemed to have stood still for a few moments…
Then with that big Tom Sellack smile he had he looked at his son (4), and said, “well son…a dog bit ‘em off”

…and then he just about fell out of his chair he laughed so hard. Had us all laughing hysterically. One of the funniest moments of my life. As far as I know the question was never raised again. He passed at age 42 from a brain aneurysm. I sure do miss that ol’ boy … You miss seeing that great big smile underneath that big black mustache.
So getting to know FF like I have I can only imagine what he’d say. LOL!
My uncle would have appreciated seeing those kids, Fred. He loved horses and had his own for about a decade before he passed. Had a quarter horse mare out of “Elderberry Ace” if my memory serves me. If you’re in to that sort of thing you can look the name up.
