My Dixie chopper diesel XWD3500 has serious problem with the hydraulic system so I have located a John Deere 997 pretty beat up but no new emissions crap, runs like a top. Fingers crossed

How many hours are on it? Most issues with the 997 are due to abuse or lack of maintenance.

My dads 997 has over 2000 hrs on it and still runs/mows like new. The fuel efficiency compared to mine gasser is impressive.

Wow, Dixie diesel are suppose to be pretty reliable, we have one at work that really takes a beating and keeps on cutting, pretty expensive though. I think it was around 17,000 new

Yes theo the engine lasts forever but the quad hyraulics is the issue and the local dealer does not have a clue. The best mower in its class ever made but 12 years of beating it to death mowing 45 acres has taken a toll.

With 45 acres I would put the land to work to be an asset and not a liability.

Get the crops growing and harvest the bucks.
