Anyone got any interesting copper items? I don't have a lot but have found some pretty cool pieces in old barns, farm houses, etc. :)

Some of them have ornate brass do-dads on them--back when craftsman took pride in their work. This one has me kinda bamboozled--I was thinkin for puttin wax seals on envelopes???? Any thoughts?

Real nice stuff, Fred! Is the tall one on the left in your first pic a coal hod/scoop? I've seen similar ones for sale online about that size and larger. Good old school craftsmanship indeed. No guess on the possible wax sealer.

The only old copper thing I have is some heavy copper candlestick holders with brass handles, wherever they are.

Could well be a coal scoop H--she's sturdy enough. That white part rolls & is hand crafted ceramic.

Those scissors are made for trimming the wick on candles.

Looks like a snuffer. Point would be to realign the wick. Does it have an edge to trim also?

Very handy if you use oil lamps. Those wide, woven wicks need to be properly "trimmed" quite often or they will burn unevenly and smoke up the glass chimney. Then it starts to get darker in the room and a strong stink of kerosene smoke that can give you a nasty headache. Even the circular wicks need to be trimmed occasionally

We kept one wick trimmer similar to that on the boat for the oil lamp wicks.

A nearly 100 year old pipe tobacco jar 🏺 that belonged to my wife’s grandpa. The pipe tobacco he kept in there was called “Bond Street”, now no longer made. However, there is a match to it called “Bourbon Street”.

My plan is for to get some of the “Match” and place it inside. I would also like to find an original “Bond Street” can un-opened and set them beside one another as sort of being in his memory. Her grandpa died when my wife was 2-3 weeks old, so she never got to remember him. After all, her dad is now 92.
