Gonna be in the market soon for a new Snowblower. Right now I have an 80's Ariens ST824. It's getting tired and time to replace. I'm thinking Ariens 28 SHO, Honda HSS928AT, or Simplicity 1728.
Mower is pretty beat. I was looking at the Toro Timemaster 30" or the Cub Cadet CC800. I cut about 3/4 acre with a fair number of obstacles.
What say you? I take good care of my equipment. These all seem to have good reviews. Which would be rock solid?

If Ariens has treated you good I see no reason to switch. Their 28 SHO has many good reviews.

They dont seem to be as well made as they used to be. The 28SHO is around 1400 and the Honda is closer to $3000! Probably end up with the Ariens.Rob R. wrote: ↑Sat. Jan. 02, 2021 5:15 pmIf Ariens has treated you good I see no reason to switch. Their 28 SHO has many good reviews.

That's tempting. I may hold out for new. The local FD just got a new Ariens I'm keeping an eye on it to see how it performs.CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Sat. Jan. 02, 2021 7:22 pmThere is a guy who rebuilds the hondas in NH...

I'm holding out a couple years for a grey market Yanmar. Who knows if I'll get one.
Snowblower is just getting old and tired. The old Ariens are well made, but it's time.
I have four sons. They can use a push mower. LOL

i'm an only child and i only have on son, he's a busy guy he's a sous chef.
i got my dads cub cadet 2138, he bought it new in 2003, it only has about 220 hours on it.
also have a collection of cub cadets from 1965 to 1970. one of them belonged to my pop pop.
would like a diesel cub cadet from the 80's but they bring big money!
watch what you buy, there is a lot of garbage out there. was looking at snowblowers at the home centers and i could not believe the prices. one like my 100 dollar snapper is close to 2 grand!

I had a 66 Sears Suburban. That was an awesome Garden Tractor! Very strong little machine.

I was looking at Fredricks in Alabama. They refurbish tractors from Japan. I'm open to a US Yanmar as well. The refurbed ones are pretty slick. You do need to keep an eye out for the more common ones, that's true. Parts are pretty available. I think a Yanmar 2000 or 2010 would be fine for my small property. I have a big garden and do some small scale farming. Would be handy to have a little tractor.CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Sat. Jan. 02, 2021 10:13 pmKeep an eye out for the old US Yanmars...

Small, 25 hp max. Something to run a Subcompact tiller, brush hog, or mower.CapeCoaler wrote: ↑Sun. Jan. 03, 2021 12:13 amHow big a tractor you looking for?
