Did old Sears push mower in 1984. The mower was 14 years at the time.
I hung out with my gramp alot growing up as he was a mechanic. So, my mom divorced 4 years earlier and I did alot to save money. It was the same issue as mentioned, valve and seat. Also replaced the head gasket. All for 6 bucks. The mower lasted 6 more years and the motor was still running, but the body rusted out beyond welding it up. The motor was out a go kart and lasted for 4 more years. B&S MAKES A GREAT PRODUCT.

Delays in getting parts has delayed this project for another week. The one $3 item is in Illinois since June 3rd listed on UPS tracking site as delayed due to civil unrest. I got the part locally for 50 cents more but no time this week to mess with it. Trying for next week but next week's calendar is quite full.

Putting together an order to refurbish 1988 7hp B&S...
Motor is tight...
Carb needs the works...
Came with a MacKissic 12P Mighty Mac chipper/shredder...
Might come to $50 for the rebuild parts...
Paid that much for the motor and chipper...
Looks like I could part out the motor and make good money...
They want $135 for a new tank and $190 for the carb...
