The MF in the shed is a 1020 3 cyl. diesel 2wd. The co-pilots other toy.
JD mows like the Mustang with a mower deck.
Your 700 is the new x495-x595.

The 740 is a bit more comfy than the 495, a big factor for an ol' fart with a LOT of mowing to do. F2000 is nice but for me with river bottom clay from hell the extra weight is a no no. Deck disconnects are a worry. Auto connect? perhaps but I don't have it. 4WD? I wish, but this is a 2012 tractor and purchase cost was a big factor. AWS works well for me.

Yeah, price is a factor. The MF was a graduation present to my self. Brand new in 1987. The same price as JD new in 2006. Just shy of 12k each.
The JD mows 4hrs at a shot. The MF mows 10hrs at a time 4 times a year.
They both are in charge of snowblowing.

we have an old Yanmar up at the summer farmhouse, 3 cyl diesel, with a brush hog. works good for a few acres.
Solar batter charger, since the house is off grid. fires right up when needed.

Often details are important. So in closely examining MB photo I spotted two things. Firstly there was a MF tractor hiding. Secondly, the size of the chain needed to restrain the dog. So the fabled Hound of Baskerville has perhaps been located. Hiding in plain site.
