anyone here have knowledge on changing round roller belts? it will be done on a NH BR740 baler. I do know bale tensioner needs to be unloaded. Belts are stitch style, not continuous one piece belts. one belt stitching ripped halfway off. Looking today notice 2 other belts starting to pull loose from belt webbing. i know they stretch with age... and OAL individual belts is important to keep tension equal on all belts. $201.00 per belt(aftermarket), 6 all together for baler....My thought do them all now, good for another 10 years or so.

What size are the belts? Plastic belts are available at least up to half inch, probably bigger.

somethings wonky here.

a belt with a 300"+ circumference is going to be a lot bigger than 7 inches in diameter. if you pull it out straight and measure from apex to apex it's going to be over 12 ft.

or i'm looking at this totally wrong in which case please excuse my ignorance.

The belts are 7 inch wide, flat conveyer belt material, Steve.

I just got in roll of 1/4 inch - 25 inch x 40 feet, of five ply, that I use to make some engine and clutch parts. And yes, the stuff is expensive. Shipping along cost me over $100.00 for 144 pounds from my Midwest supplier.

Internet supplier, from Texas, made to fit Baler 165.00 per belt. FREE shipping. But the time to change all belts, 2 days. MORE importantly...all same length, no uneven tension, or feed issues!! Local NH dealer, $201.00 per belt.,generic branded. Now its trying to convince owner... money spent now saves down time in hay season when they will break. Good point they will last 10000 rolls on average or about 15 years.

One belt in first pick had Alligator brand lacing,so that belt i had to completely get in baler run it around all rollers.

this baler makes 4'wide X 5' diameter bales. The tensioner sysem will have to be adjusted for pressure, but can't be done till starting to bale. About a 20 minute process, adjusting tension spring, and hydraulic tension controller. Now just clean it up real good, lube real good and see how if feeds this year. Hopefully less plugging because of worn, different length belts.
