Anyone have experience with this series tractor? I have an 2004 jx55 runs great, but occasionally the power take off will kick out while in use. fluids are all full and new, I can't find any obvious adjustment or reason for it to happen. ideas??

PTO clutches have always been a problem on the jx series. There is no return spring to pull the throw out bearing off of the clutch fingers when not in use. The bearing chatters against the clutch fingers wearing them down and throwing the clutch adjustment off. Then they start slipping and burn themselves out quickly. Put aftermarket springs on the clutch arms to pull the throw out bearing back when not in use.. Sorry, not a fan.

ack, I've been haying with a jx95 for the last 4 or so years and it has been a really good tractor. picked up this 55 over the summer for a good price with only 1100 hours. might know why the price was good now but will work it out somehow

There you go NMC, trying to make one of lifes decisions without consulting the coal board. I've warned you before. I do do marital advice as well but there is a charge for that one. Seriously, I hate being the messenger on this one.
