The results in all cases are measured for registered firearms. Most states do not require firearm registration.
Yes, that would explain DC being #2. I heard of a guy being convicted for having an unregistered empty shotgun shell on his desk. So chances are most guns there are registered. There are supposed to be over 300,000,000 guns in the US, or about 900 guns per 1,000 residents.lsayre wrote:The results in all cases are measured for registered firearms. I just read somewhere that during the eight years of Obama's Presidency, Americans bought 100 million guns and the gun industry has grown 158%. We have more guns than people now. Thanks Obama!

Over 5% of adults in my state have handgun carry permits. That has to be high on the list. I have a hard time naming people I know without at least one gun in their home.

I'm not even sure where they are citing for registered firearm owners in PA.lsayre wrote:The results in all cases are measured for registered firearms. Most states do not require firearm registration.
That is either CCW permit holders, Class 3 guns(which you can legally own in PA) or some other specific category. There is probably more than 88K gun owners in my County with a population of 300K. There is almost one million registered hunters in PA and it's probably safe to assume nearly every one of them owns at least one gun. That's 88,732 registered firearms among 5,928,814 people.

Discussing futher ~ one must look and query that if a gun owner discloses his gun info, does it create a safety risk for that gun owner?
Well, when I have asked for gun invoice records from local police depts some make this claim.
And if so, can one be required to create a safety risk to exercise a right? I would tend to think not.
And if all is so, then are not gun registrations, BR checks, 4473 forms all void? Maybe.

It's not a bad thing for them to under estimate such thingsRichard S. wrote: That is either CCW permit holders, Class 3 guns(which you can legally own in PA) or some other specific category.
