Always a somber day around here, not a day for celebrations for those that remember.

Great Uncle ... Sgt. Francis H. Loveland. KIA. Normandy, Aug 1944. Grateful / humbled by his sacrifice. R.I.P. .
Please fly your flag. Seems my neighborhood has forgotten. Sad, disappointed.

Great photos guys! I appreciate everything they have done every day.

Im working on a photo display of my relative vets today. I am lucky that only one died in service, in WWI.

My daughter and I made our annual trip to Arlington yesterday.

We were fortunate to be at the changing of the guard when they were doing a wreath laying ceremony. This group of kids were marching in today's Memorial Day parade.

It's always sobering to see the grave sites stretching to the tree line and beyond.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those individuals and families who gave all so I can sleep in peace at night. God Bless them all. Lisa

Haven't done much posting since my wife died
And now trying to deal with this confusing forum change..... I hate changes !!

My uncle Martin gave his all on his 19th birthday, many thanks to those like him who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Yep, i am a day late.... may this remind someone today who may have already forgotten. It's easy to remember on special days that are set aside for this purpose, but what about the rest of the days of the yr.?They died so we could live freely every day,not just special days.

I used to do the same FF but the winds we get around here caused me to take it down in bad weather conditions. I was both going thru too many flags & my pole has a bend in it now so I also went down to a 3'X5' flag & it's working pretty well along with the solar LED light for night.
Now if I could only remember to take my stash of old flags next trip to the VA Hosp., they have a box for them to be properly retired.

this is a real nice story of a funeral service 80 miles from me of a WWII vet who has recently been ID'd who died at Pearl Harbor. 6 minutes long, be warned. They had this on a local channel last night.
