Apologies Lord, I could never have placed my newborn babe into a manger teeming with splinters, sheep drool and scratchy hay. You proved your humility...and my pride...in one simple act. Shame upon me.

Merry Christmas fellow coal burners and Christians.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God , Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Yes quite spoiled.

One of the benefits of having sheep is being able to relate to a lot of what the bible says. In this case I wanted to illustrate with a simple picture the contrast between soft, fuzzy pink blankets and pillows and what the savior of the world first had to sleep on. You are indeed correct, Mary and Joseph had no other options so it was certainly not their fault, but God knew where his son would first be placed...it was no surprise to him.
