Haying Begins

Weather hasn't been god for square baling...but I am taking a chance front moving down from up north will keep rain away for about 3>4 days. dropped about 8 acres tonite, tomorrows forecast sunny all day, saturday, remote chance scattered showers, sunday nice. Grounds damp, will ted friday after work, windrow saturday early noon,, and half roll them late saturday nooon. Hoping front brings a breezey saturday, windrows less hay will be on ground, and catch breeze to help dry.

The neighbor finally started ours for the first cut of the year. Blew a hydraulic hose on the kicker & started with the old bailer that was never used for several years & not working right. We still got maybe half so it's gonna be an interest day today.

got it baled up today, worked it yesterday, ted 2 times. not super dry, but not burning any barns down either. Now I wait for a GOOD long term dry spell to do rest.

I hope you spread salt over each layer as you stacked it.Helps it cure without burning or molding.

I had the stuff to get the neighbors kicker fixed & running, worked on the old baler & got it going so used both. Got 3,000 more or less up in the barns & it's all pretty dry, now to kick back & wait on the second cut.
