Ford 801 Powermaster

Dad picked up this 801 at a local estate auction. Barn stored since 1983. Needed a new wheel and battery, but it runs excellent. 4 cylinder diesel. Need to get an operators manual and service manual for it and run it through the shop. next on the list is a 3-point brush hog.

We run a Ford Jubillee that works every single day. That is one special find you have there, good luck with it.

Nice addition to the herd.....Thank gawd some people hoard or stow away things. It is criminal to scrap everything IMO! Dad has the touch, must have sniffed that one out. Probably was lonely sitting there all alone!!

It has an interesting cold start system. Two Autolite glow plugs in the intake manifold preheat the air to aid combustion.

That is definitely a "find"!
I had the gas version and it never let me down.
Take good care of it and it'll outlast all of us.

Those make for a fun ether starting experience!

Looked at a Ford 1900 the other day for my neighbor - thing was beat to hell - 771 loader had 1/4" plate pyramids welded all over it. 2200 hours, 4x4, $8,500 ...

I have been hobby farmin with an 861

It came home in a drug deal about 35 years ago ----
This spring I noticed one rear was low ????? once out in the sun it was apparent that the valve stem was leaking and rust was accumulating around the stem hole. I pumped out the calcium and demounted the tire. Once under the sandblaster I got a hole you could pass a football thru

HOLYCOW I just put these tires on a few years ago - well later in the shower with the math running in my head - [a few years ago] - was about 1984 when I was doing a landscaping job for this hottie down the block that I swear would have floated due to build in water wings

Yes my gas Jubilee is supposed to lift 700lbs. It pulls a 540rpm arena groomer that weighs over 1000lbs and that is out a few feet, I do have weights on the front. 10 years doing that and no complaints. Replaced the foot starter and had to take the gearbox cover off to replace that. The inside looks as new, no metal shavings nothing. Can't say enough good things and now you have live hydraulics - WOW.... all it needs is a Sherman tranny.

This one will probably end up with a 6' brush hog behind it...the rows of trees it needs to go between won't permit a wider mower.

Clutch is all the way to the top, that will be first on the repair list.

I planted 18 acres of trees 12 years ago and soon after I bought a new 5 foot brush hog to pull thru the rows [ I have a 5 speed ]
It does just fine - sometimes in 4th gear usually in 3rd sometimes drop to 2nd when the quack grass is strong and 4 feet hi
I had to put on some protection bars to keep the branches from pulling the spark plug wires - you won't have that little drama

I do find I have to stop every 1-2 hours or so and blow the "chaf" out of the radiator
