NOT!! Greased up mower hooked up to tractor, cycled hydra swing, cycled head lift all good. Next in engage pto to start it working to exercise for a minute, and PU reel stops driving...whad da gees is going on? thought maybe belt tensioner popped off of overcenter...nope. theres a"vari-drive" off end of upper roller that drives P/U reel system, way to adjust speed add/remove shims. its a gear/chain setup, 2 gears mount on upper reel tensioner swing plate, other gear(vari thingy, bolts to smain frame bulkhead. Seeems upper roller has shifted a tad to right, putting side load on #40 chain, it snapped chain.Freak figuring its a bad roller shaft bearing.... but they look good. So temp fix tomorrow night will be a few 5/8 machinery shims inder base of vari. Hope this will work.
Main cross frame that supports floating head had a repair done to it before(bad one also) where it had something fall on it and bend it, I think. So there more give flex in frame causing right side to dip/flex causing roller to shift to right side, because its not in a staright alingment left to right side frame walls. Just need it to last for about 50 acres of hay. Then either have it repaired/aligned correctly or get good use right main support frame from equipment salvage yards somewheres.
Priced a new one there $1400 dollars and a lot of labor to replace.

Hey sting... got all the mulch you want, take old loose hay out of barn stack in field, turn it a few times let it rot down naturally. Got to clean barn now, so if you want some come and get it. bring a big truck.
