Fire is as Fire Does...
They need a Hybrid system...
Most here have a outlet at the panel dmark...
Will give you 3-6000 watts...
When the grid is down...
And the sun is shining...

You don't need to subscribe let me give you the essence of it ... they are screwed and it will take a long time to fix. Once the fire is out and perhaps they are back home the danger continues. The air is still very toxic and is causing much damage.. Shelleys sister is a respiratory therapist in LA and they are totally overwhelmed.

Most solar power arrays in California cannot operate without the grid
so are useless in the blackouts. They need battery bank to take them
through.

Perfect use for EV's battery to provide them with electricity during these
power outages. The Teala CyberTruck could provide an easy way for a
number of days of backup power with it's 240v ac outlets.
They also could earn money on sales back to the grid at peak usage
times.

Rather expensive solution. You could buy a lot of generator for what one cyber truck costs and have lots of money left over...... especially if you don't need a truck.

Then you buy any vehicle that has these capabilities . Nissan has this also
in the newer model ,but not in the US ,coming soon...
This will be added to future designs as needed .
Why add another ICE to maintain? When the EV would be available
365/7 not just in emergencies?

There will be a lot of growing pains...
There are many other systems that have happy PV owners riding through any power outages, but that doesn't drive a "good" story...
If ones glass is half full or is half empty, drives ones point of view...

We'll eventually figure it out and along the way be sold a bucket of stuff that's partially full of planned obsolescence. Until they find what works best with the materials at that time I guess that's how it will go. Teach your kids. Like McGeiver said, success doesn't create fear which sells stories. Since last summer when the power goes out, we hop in the trailer fitted with a small PV system good for 5 or more cloudy days. Then the generator comes out and we're good til the sun pops out.

I'm sure the major fires burn pretty clean...
It's when they dump all the water trying to put them out...
That causes the damage...
