I look forward to seeing the finished product ( If thats even allowed ) Someone else that works with fairly large stuff

The shafts got pushed back about 4 weeks.
They both will get centers and rough mill the OD on both ends on the big G&L boring mill using a 90 degree head. Then on the big lathe for turning. A bunch of holes all around parts. Tapped, Bored, and clearance holes. Will take at least 6 weeks or more till they are done machining.

Nice, what is the spindle size? 6" or 7" I'm guessing! G&L makes a good boring mill as we have had a few but only have a 6" left. The mill I run has a 225 MM ( 8.858" spindle) with 630" in X and 198" in Y and 7 axis. Been on HBM's most of my working career.mntbugy wrote: ↑Sat. The big G&L has 7 in spindle. T-slot floor plate 432in on x ,240 on y, z is 96. Small G&L . 6in spindle. X is 156, Y is 104, Z is 48,W is 48 . Rotorary table 84x60.
Have a smaller Cincinnati glibert.
All have 90 degree head attachment.
Biggest stuff at another place, that was all hydo electric turbines. A 600 inch VTL with dual heads.

Nice, Our biggest Farrel VTL will do 480"or 40' dia but the 600" is a big one for sure! We don't do much turning over 24' anymore but we still have the ability ever needed!

Landed the shaft this morning. Took awhile to do still half asleep.
Part is only 10,000 pounds over machine capacity.
Both parts was quoted at 300hours. We might make a couple bucks?
If the part falls out of the chuck, I'm dead.
