If you only want to see whats happening inside your place then an intranet will

do that. A program called IP Webcam will allow you to live stream video from any

cell phone or other camera to your phone or computer , but you have to be on the

same router , so no access from other locations.

I use an old cell phone with the application to monitor by boilers secondary air and

am able to see the burn quality at any time.I only need the basic program but more

may be available from the writer.

Here is a picture from my saved files... ABOVE

Huh? No open conduit?
No I did not do an extra conduit... the boiler piping came with a string to pull stuff through, but it somehow got dropped down into the piping so I can’t reach it... very upset lol

Anyone ever try these? I was just talking to a co-worker who runs an IP camera through a set.

I had looked at a similar product a few years ago and the cost was higher and the reliability didn't get good marks at that time. It looks like they are much more reliable now from the reviews and the price is much better. Maybe I could use a pair to link to the garage if the wifi from the repeater gets sketchy out there.

If it was a separate pipe:
Use a durable string/line and tie a flimsy lunch baggie around the open end securely tighten.

With the string ready to pay-out have someone place the end of a shop-vac on the other end of the pipe sealed tightly.

Don't let the string burn or cut your hand as it will be traveling very fast provided you are able to pay it out freely.

Now, if it was NOT a separate pipe and just inside the whole bundle it will be harder and may take using a bread bag...try different size bags if need be and with a tightly sealed vacuum you may get it to go w/ some tugging back and fiddling a bit.

HTH

You will owe me a Beer for this...

They put the insulated pex through the tile pipe, along with a string, I had the string cut kind of tight, dumb me, and when my pex heated up and expanded, it pushed out into my basement, pulling the string with it, and it went down in the tile pipe out in the boiler building.

We have gotten back pulk strings by using a metal fish tape with a hook on the end and twist the fish in the pipe a bunch of times. Usually it will grab on to the pull string and you can retrieve it. Make sure you have slack on the other side

Q beat me to it.

When you go to pull Cat 5E cable in soap it up real good so it doesn't get bound up.
Then find a buddy who has a RJ-45 crimper tool to do your ends for you.

The hook could puncture the pex.
