If viewing on a phone outside of local network...
Limit the number of cameras you look at...
use the favorites to make groups of 4...
The LTS can also be daisy chained depending on model...

So here we are 2 years later...

AND THERE RUNNING FIBER UP MY ROAD!!!

I am so pumped! I’m going to be able to do so much here! Now I just need to wait for them to get it hooked up, and then figure out if and how there going to get it to my house, I have that blank 2” conduit from the pole to my basement, so they’ll need to snake it through that... then I can geek out on all kinds of stuff!

Don't get to fired up the fiber might be a private network. Verizon wireless ran a near 60 mile loop from the Susquehanna River back to the Susquehanna about 15 miles North of where they started and not on Verizon land line poles. Why? I guess because it was, there.

It’s not private, I live on a dead end road and they left a 150’ loop at my pole to get Verizon started toward my house.. I talked to the guy hanging it.

Are you 150 feet to the pole...
You will be surprised on how pricey running fiber gets...
But you might get lucky and pay nothing...
Depends...
Make the call...

My back up plan is starlink..

The fiber itself is cheap. Having Verizon install is another thing. When they landed Fios at my house it was a 300' link, no charge. All of the verizon jockeys use perterminated lengths of fiber from the node to the dwelling, they dont splice.

If its pre-terminated then its easy...
Just don't crack the glass...
It depends on infrastructure...
Running a line up here was 50k/mile...
To do a tie in...
But Comcast will run for free fiber to business if under 1800 feet...

My brother had to run about 1400 feet to his house. He dug the trench and put in 1" plastic water line. Phone company supplied the fiber and pulled it through.

Depending on the fiber count 50k/Mi is not that bad. $9.5/ft Last install we did was a 96strand singlemode in 4"duct bank for 1300' and it was about 110k. This included splicing of 4 other 12stand. You would be surprised how durable fiber optic cable is.

I have a blank 2” conduit already buried there, they just have to pull the fiber through..

I’m torn between this and the new starlink..

Well, one is impacted by weather and the other is not.
