You're tax dollars at work.

But to be technical, it is not going into Mars orbit, or to anywhere near Mars. It will be launched into a highly elliptical orbit which at its extreme of ellipticity will extend to as far from the sun as Mars, but will have nothing to do with Mars.

I love the guy but I would not buy this cars. There is plenty of Coo co people to do that for him. A Tesla on Mars, that is good for at least 50,000 cars a year.

Falcon is now delayed, they say wind shear but I have the inside scoop. Here it is, they used Lucas electrics.

Batteries that power the rocket just aren't quite at full charge yet. Once the batteries are fully charged ,the electric launch motor will propel the rocket into space with 10 million ft lbs of torque.

Did I miss something, or did they appear to lose the signal from the ship/roadster itself near the end of their live broadcast? Despite forced smiles, they looked like they were sweating it.

... And the peasants rejoiced... I am fortunate to be alive during these exciting times. All the evil fossil fuel that Tesla’s cars could ever hope to save us from in 10 lifetimes was all spent in less than a minute. Would be much more impressive if it was powered by a huge windmill or solar array but the technology just isn’t quite ready yet.

It is all for a noble and good cause, our tax dollars are doing worthwhile so don’t make fun. They say charity starts at home... so what the hell?

The boosters landing by themselves was impressive to say the least.

Indeed! SpaceX is starting to make NASA look pretty bad overall. NASA's costly innovation level progresses along about as slowly as nails by comparison to SpaceX's highly flexible ability to rapidly innovate and then progress design concepts to fruition.

It reminds me of the difference between IBM and Apple back when IBM was in competition with them at the PC level. IBM required endless committee meetings to come to consensus before implementing change or progressing with new ideas, while at Apple the big guy said "do it" and it was done. IBM lost its shirt on PC's. Apple ran innovation level circles around them.
