Theo,
Look at the CD label to see if it supports your operating system. If it does, maybe a bad CD. Go to Canon web site and download driver. Also, see if you meet the hardware requirements to(memory, CPU, disk space) to connect to the Canon. Hope this helps.
Cheers

Uninstall printer in PC where it is shown "installed", disconnect printer cable from PC and forget about the disk...now "restart" PC and wait for PC then you may plug printer back into PC and it will be installed, all you need do is enjoy.

That's what I was kinda thinkin' ,FF. He did say the 'printer' was to be installed 'inside' the computer...........a bigger hammer should accomplish the task at hand.freetown fred wrote:AND!!! if none of that works T-----the old SMITTY philosophy

Theo whenever installing a new deice it's best to go to the manufacturers website and get the latest drivers. The disc shipped with the device is often outdated when they ship it. This will be particularly important if it's different OS or the OS is not listed as supported. They will add drivers for new OS's as long as it's recent device.

As CapeCoaler suggested, unplug from the computer. Uninstall anything related to the printer. Run the file from the link above and then reattach the printer.

That may or may not work depending on if Windows has the driver in their library. It may also be a generic driver that won't give you the full capabilities of the printer either.McGiever wrote:Uninstall printer in PC where it is shown "installed", disconnect printer cable from PC and forget about the disk...now "restart" PC and wait for PC then you may plug printer back into PC and it will be installed, all you need do is enjoy.

I believe I did mine from the MFR website, worked perfectly. nice having Wifi on the printer.
you never know how long it's been sitting at the retailer, CD could be out of date.

I bought a new hp M15w laser printer for $100 on amazon because oldest is home three days. This was the best upgrade I made.
