Here's an example of the distortion.
You can zoom in enough to get rid of it.

I have a photographer friend. He has one on the wingtip of his Cessna airplane. He said something about it being illegal, but he loves it. (Don't know why it's not legal)

GoPro 3 (the early, bigger one) but the garden shots in the film were JVC Hi def camera done by Helge and show how inept I am. Making a load of GoPro video stuff into a artistic film was thx to my friend Helge Bernhardt. 2700, Cineform, all work requiring an IQ of over 50 was done by Helge. All ground shots use a tripod. Horse show stuff mixed in was from 9 years ago so say 70% GoPro. Ya gotta love that little camera. I've got some great fall video from a few weeks ago if anybody is interested.

Helge has already bought a Parrot drone and is practicing without the camera. Who wishes to volunteer their camera for the maiden flight! I should warn you he has crashed twice and the copter is looking a little sick now. Lack of funds inhibits buying a second one. Youtubers make it look so easy, winds are a disaster! Ariel shots of the farm in the snow (if winter ever comes)..... and so the incompetent rumble on.....Hey, I wanna mount one of those on a remote control model airplane

3 years ago I got back into R/C planes. Got an electric sailplane with a 6 foot wingspan. Made of super styrofoam. I got a sort of autopilot on it. It has infrared sensors that look at ground and sky. If you're upside down plummeting towards earth and can't regain control, you simply let go of the radio control sticks and the plane instantly snaps back to straight and level flight. Then I got a micro camera and microwave transmitter and receiver and installed it in the plane. It also had a Heads Up Display superimposed over the live video feed image. GPS altitude, heading, speed and relative position to where you took off. If you lost the signal, the plane automatically returned to where it took off from at a pre assigned altitude and speed. IT IS REALLY FREAKING COOL to play with! I essentially built my own drone with inexpensive, off the shelf R/C plane accessories and no previous experience doing so. Actually,...it is REALLY FREAKING SCARY that even I could do this! Imagine what someone with a bad attitude and some know how could do

Wow, we don't have any eagles but I thought I spotted an old buzzard on the farm but I was wrong it was the mother in law. I could tell by the red hair, everything else looked the same.

Hard to believe how long ago this thread was started. I shot lots of video from here to Cherry Springs using the top helmet mount. I shot in 1080 60fps so the clips are very large files ( 3 - 4 gigs ). It's nice in this kind of weather to be able to take a video ride on the laptop. I tried to drop the quality to reduce the file size, but I don't like the blurry choppy look of the lower quality. At 1080 60fps you can pull photo quality frames. I use a USB cable to provide power while riding.
The card will hold about 3 hours of video. I don't bother to edit so the beginning and end are a bit wild taking the helmet on and off.

I never had any luck with mine. Shuts down after 30 seconds. Not very useful.
