Northwest Indiana...a long way from the mines...this summer $280 for a pallet of bagged rice coal @ 1.2 tons per pallet picked up. I only have to drive about 20 miles. this fall his price went to $332/pallet. if this guy goes though, i'm in trouble...haven't found anyone else in a 150 miles! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!

we just ordered a free standing coal stove. the price for 1 ton bagged and delivered is 250.00 we live about 20 miles of syracuse ny. this will be our first adventure with burning coal.

just purchased a keystoker boiler today and the rice coal is 175.00 picked up but I got lucky and he threw in a ton...im done with cutting wood for my outdoor woodburner and since I cant cut free wood anymore and have to pay for it, it will cost me apprx. 85.00 a month and thats still going into the woods to cut it. thats what it will cost me to simply throw the coal in the hopper per month.if anyones interested the outside stove is for sale

$205/Ton here in WNY (50# bags). Just got 2 ton with 1 more to go and we should be set.

Cheaper in bulk with 4 ton min. delivery.

Just purchased 3 tons yesterday (Friday 29th) 113.00 per ton picked up. Was told it's going up $5 a ton on Monday.

Been checking around the Albany area.. looks like $250 /ton bagged F.O.B.. Any one in this area burn coal??

Lots of people claim that's a photoshop job, but my wife's uncle lives just down the street from where the picture was taken and he saw it with his own eyes when he went downtown for coffee and the paper one morning. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, as they say.

On topic - not sure what they're getting per bag for Nut Anthracite around here. Last year it was $300 for a pallet of 60, 40# bags or $5.25/bag for less than a pallet load. With any luck, I've got enough to go the whole winter already and won't have to buy any to finish out the season.

$130.00 per ton. The coal I burn is mined several miles down the road from my home! Land is owned buy a coal company and leased to the mining company, they mine and process for the coal company. The mining company gets to sell of a certain percentage under their own name for prophet.

Price in Scranton PA for rice size anthracite is 180 a ton bagged (50# bags sewn shut) and 125 per ton bulk. This is washed not oiled.

I just had 4ton of water washed chestnut delivered yesterday. $620 delivered.

When I first joined the forum, and called around to see where I could get coal, I found one dealer in Paterson that charged $270 for non bagged coal delivered to NW Morris County. Wondering if there price has gone higher now that we are in the beginning of heating season.

Based on reading all the replies, I have to assume then that the best time to order your coal is in late Spring or early Summer. As I am hoping to be eventually included in the outer delivery perimeter of our host, wondered which month makes the most sense to purchase. Apparently coal prices are seasonable, and supply and demand control the prices the nearer your get to heating season.

How high could that be? Can I purchase coal for pickup from our our host?Will the price differ much from now on and through the winter? Since the ability to transport is limited by the size of the vehicle, wondering if I should consider renting a dumptruck next year and picking up a two year supply. The idea of Co-op seems like a good one. Any chance of that?

Prices don't fluctuate that much in our area, you may see a $5 - $15 difference per ton at most. Granted it's more than few dollars a couple but not some exhobitant amount.
