I have one ton left and it is early March ...
Will it be enough to finish the season off ?
How much you have for those folks who like to get inventory down to zero ideally at end of season ?

Depends on how much you burn.
I have about 1.5-2 ton left, I go thru about 1 ton a month, so, I will pretty close if I go into April. It's been pretty mild here in WNY.
we had 53 on Wed. and 33 today with snow/slush. its all over the place here. then this week in the 40s'.

Iv got about 1.5 ton left out of a 4.5 ton supply. I figure ill have about a half ton left when i shut down. Not prebuying any until fall. I think prices will be back to normal by then. Plus ill have installed some Nat gas equipment as an alternative by then.

I have gone through 4 tons so far, started on 1 OCT this season. Got the house 73-70F now with 40F outside. Once it gets 55F the stove will be at mid-idle eating 15-20 lbs a day.WNY wrote: ↑Sat. Mar. 04, 2023 2:19 pmDepends on how much you burn.

I haven't seen the floor of the bin since Feb 2022. I'll need 3 tons to fill it to the top in april or may.

I should make a bin to accommodate enough material to get a shipment of bit to me.lincolnmania wrote: ↑Sat. Mar. 04, 2023 5:03 pmI haven't seen the floor of the bin since Feb 2022. I'll need 3 tons to fill it to the top in april or may.

I use my bin for storage of outdoor stuff and garbage cans in the summer so i try to get it completely cleaned out after heating season. Then when summer is over i usually get a whole winters supply of coal dropped in so i dont need any mid winter deliveries.lincolnmania wrote: ↑Sat. I'm down to maybe 3/4 ton, being optimistic. Started with 4 tons nut, burning since early Nov. At this point, hoping I can make the end of March. The bulk I got last Summer is not impressive on mileage. Temps are supposed to be well below normal for the last 3 weeks of March.

It all depends on how cold it stays through March and what you typically burn through a month. I never let my personal inventory go lower than about 1.5 tons. I restock a ton typically as I use one. Usually, I try to keep about 3 tons of rice on hand and 2 tons of nut.
