Hello everyone,
Ironically despite going to college in PA and living in New England & New York, I never knew about the power of anthracite until we got to France. There are dealers here but the price per bagged ton is upwards of 1300 euros. Does anyone know if there is a reputable dealer either in the States or perhaps Eastern Europe able to ship large quantities for private use (we are a large family in a large home and looking to stock up somewhere on the order of 30 tons to prepare for tough times ahead over the next 5 to 10 years).

- Stoker Coal Boiler: Bairmatic-Van Wert
- Hand Fed Coal Boiler: Van Wert VW85H
- Hand Fed Coal Stove: Saey Hanover II working when I feel the desire, Waterford 105 out on vacation, Surdiac Gotha hiding somewhere
- Coal Size/Type: pea/nut/rice/stove-anthracite, nut/stove bit when I feel the urge
- Other Heating: oil fired hydronic
So that would be 1300 x 1.02 = $1326.00 a ton ... makes that $275.00/ton last summer look pretty nice

Bagged coal is $500 a ton here in Pennsylvania so figure transportation costs on top of that.

Its probably cheaper to buy it from the mine in Wales, if they have any available with this crazy demand going on.

Supposedly the Euro is now below parity with US dollar. Won't save them much though.BunkerdCaddis wrote: ↑Thu. Nov. 10, 2022 5:28 pmSo that would be 1300 x 1.02 = $1326.00 a ton ... makes that $275.00/ton last summer look pretty nice

I would think you would be able to get a better deal from somewhere in south Africa.tnaslund wrote: ↑Thu. Nov. 10, 2022 4:36 pmHello everyone,

Arrange for two short containers. There are coal brokers in New York that could handle it. Google is your friend.
