I'm looking into head out to sherman coal for 2 ton of buck in the middle of next month. How many of you guys have dealt with them? How is the quality of the coal? i just talked to my guy i normally get from and he is at 350 a ton he sells Blachak in bulk. going to get 2 ton from him tomorrow then get 2-3 ton from sherman next month. I will also look into getting a few ton of nut coal in the future as well for my hand fired.

I have heard nothing but good things about their coal over the last year. Make sure you call ahead to make sure they have what you want.

Went out to Sherman this morning and got 2.3 ton. 200$ per ton. First time I ever went there. Small place but I liked it, a big plus for me is as they load you they wash it with fresh water as is comes out the chute. Ill be going back next month to continue stocking up.

You won't be disappointed. I love how the scale looks like it shouldn't be operational!

I cant speak on burn quality yet but I will find out soon. I have to get at least 1 ton of nut for my gibratler handfired and about 4ton of buck for my allen stoker in the basement.

I got a ton, it looks ok but it does have a lot of fines in it. I got 2 buckets of fines out of the bottom of the truck bed.

Intersection of Rt 81 and 25. It's exit 112 for Hegins off 81, closest to Newtown but near Tremont, roughly across from the entrance to the landfill (use your sniffer if you get lost). Drive in, pull on the scale directly next/past to the trailer looking shack. Backup and you'll see on the left of the big breaker building where the chutes are and the loading area...better have 4 wheel drive or at least good tires. I don't think I've ever had to use 4 wheel drive with my truck yet since the weight helps. It's not horrible though.

$200/Ton
Even chatted with a high lift delivery guy from near where I grew up. Said he's covering all of PA and even into NY now, getting new customers everyday. Even the superior stuff I got in the summer at the same price is burning decently for me (not as poorly as some stuff in the past has from them)...if I lived far away I'd be scared to pay the whopping $350+ the big name breakers want.

Got that guy's name and number? I am curious how much delivery is a couple hours out.
