Hollenbeck's Feed and Coal - located just south of Warner's - is almost always cheaper than Warner's, and his coal is better IMO. His bagged nut coal is Blaschak. Not sure on the source of his rice coal but I'm quite happy with it. I don't know what his current price is.

I paid $200.00 for nut at Superior two weeks ago. It burns very well without too much ash. Will definitely go back for more.

Prices have come down VERY LITTLE here in central MA. Squire Lumber is now under $500 a ton, which is a step in the correct direction.

If you buy more than 3 tons, Pellets Direct is about the same price, otherwise it's about $500 a ton, minus 10 cents.https://shop.pelletsdirect.com/Blaschak-Rice-Coal ... roductId=4
Those are my 2 go-to's. Anywhere else that carried it was always way too high, so I quit looking there. Like the Stove Place in Shrewsbury - always stupid high. Now they're right in line with everyone else.
Look at the ridiculous pellet pricing here! WOW! http://thestoveplace.com/announcements-and-fuel-prices/

I got 1 1/2 tons left .. I would usually just get 1/2 ton loads at TSC to get to end of heating season if needed . Started out with 4 1/2 tons. Started burning in early Oct. Fingers crossed that I either will get by with the 1 1/2 tons to end of season or that TSC ends up getting some in stock. Otherwise, I'll have to order a few tons and store most over the spring/summer.hotblast1357 wrote: ↑Sat. Never fails -1st place is out of rice - that's what I burn, naturally, and it's too far out besides that fact. The cheapest place around, the 2nd one in CT, won't be by the time I get the coal here. I normally buy 6 tons a season, which USUALLY leaves me with a bit of a head start for the following season. My half ton pickup and flatbed aren't going to be hauling 12k back over an hour, so I'd have to make 2 trips. There's at least 4.5 hours of driving (IF I get lucky and Hartford isn't a shitshow all 4 times I have to drive through it), plus a few hundred in premium gas. There goes that savings! Completely GONE, and then some! Always the way ...
Should've saved my money in '07 and picked up a used diesel truck instead. I'd have been MUCH better off!
