No politics intended but now another refinery in OK blows up and that means the East coast is very short of diesel,HO and gas. If these costs continue to rise it matters not what the Fed does inflation will continue to rise.

My haulers used to charge 20 to $25 a ton (10 mile trip) to deliver 4 ton. Now its $35 a ton and the breaker wants $80 More than last year. Worth it for hauiling though as i have to carry every pound to the bin if i haul it.

Countryside Coal and Wood is still showing $342 a ton delivered bulk (Blaschak) for a 4-ton min. order. If your haul distance is on the long side, they do charge extra.
It's Jay Clair Sensenig in case someone looks for his website.

At these prices electric looks to be decent. We're going back to wood for this season. I have time and "free" wood.

For those that don't view facebook. from Blaschak's page several days ago. I don't buy the doubled in cost claim on some of the items listed. Then again, the nothing fancy coffee I buy from online from Walmart or Amazon for $8.19 a 31 oz. can is priced at $13 for a smaller can in all the local supermarkets. Spank 'em while you can.

( name redacted) Today you are paying double the price for a gallon of milk, double the price for a dozen eggs, double the price for diesel, electric rates that have increased in many areas over 38% and the list goes on. Why? Inflation. With trying to keep the reply short, every aspect of any mining producer of anthracite costs have increased dramatically over the last year as a result of inflation. Every oil related product has increased. From oils, lubricants, plastics, polymers, resins to diesel fuel has gone up in price. Most of these products do not go down just because the price of a barrel oil goes down. Steel and lumber used for repairs has increased. Explosives that you see in our videos have increased. As you see in our pictures and videos we move a lot of dirt and use a lot of equipment to do so. That all adds up. Add in all kinds of other expenses including the increased cost of healthcare for our labor force and other employee driven expenses and you start seeing why pricing has increased in not only the anthracite industry but all industries. Even the price to get the anthracite from our location to many of our dealers has more than double because of fuel prices and the lack of available trucking. All of these costs need to be managed while maintaining our fleet, keeping up with repairs, continued efforts in reclamation, adding future anthracite reserves and hopefully replacing old equipment with newer or new equipment. The good news is that like everything else that has gone up with inflation, anthracite pricing will eventually find a more stable pricing point as inflation decreases and we get back to a more stable economy. Anthracite still remains the most economical fuel per BTU. Visit our website at www.blaschakanthracite.com and click on our fuel comparison calculator to compare.

As I read the Blaschak post, I was hoping for a "happy ending". In that they would ascertain the fact they would not follow the industry, but keep their pricing increases to a minimum. But I guess that would be an impossible feat, to continue operating. Very sad. I "SO MUCH" wanna include a political comment....but will bite my tongue....(or this keyboard)
