If you want to buy from TSC and your store is out of stock, try ordering on-line or ask the manager to order for you. Should be free ship to store, the orders I have placed always is. I just ordered two pallets from my local store which is a new store, with free shipping to store. If TSC will ship a pallet free to a store here in Alabama, I don't know why they wouldn't ship to a store up North where coal is used more than here, especially a store which normally stocks it. Here at our stores, the TSC truck comes every Wednesday.

Two years ago, before I discovered the ship to store option, I found a store 50 miles from me that had two pallets in stock. TSC had a sale going on at the time, 2 bags for $10, so I called and talked with the manager. The manager said he only had two pallets and they were not on sale, said each store manager could set the price and not honor the sale price for in store items. He said he only ordered for local blacksmiths and if I bought from his store that I would have to pay the regular price. I was more than aggravated to say the least, plus he was arrogant in tone, so I called corporate and talked with a customer service rep. She said that was the policy, but if this particular store had it in stock, just go ahead and order and pay on-line and I could pick the pallet up at that store with my receipt. So I ordered on-line, got it at the sale price, and went the next day to pick-up the pallet. I was really disappointed to find out that the manager I had originally spoke to was not working that day. I told the assistant manager what had transpired and what a turd the manager I spoke to on the phone was. All she could do was grin and shake her head in mild agreement. She went above and beyond as far as customer service goes. If I could haul it, I would have cleaned them out, but I only bought one pallet since it was a 100 mile round trip.

So, try ordering on-line or have your local manager order it in shipped to store. If that doesn't work, call corporate. Corporate knows how a disgruntled customer can ruin a stores business, what with facebook and other town forums.

I'd put plywood on top of the bags from row to row before the tarp or your asking for problems. At least I would be in my location. But whatever you do I'd love to see a picture of it when your done.
The coal skids are not as tall as I had envisioned. I decided to go another route. I am going to make a temporary, permanent, moveable, stationary, storage garage. I am going tomorrow to purchase used Pallet racking in like new condition. Uprights are 14 feet high and 32 inches wide. Crossmembers are 9 feet long. I am going to put 3 shelving units together in a row. Then 9 feet to the right of that row I am going to put 3 more shelving units, 27 feet long same as first row and parallel to it. Then 9 feet from the middle row I will put another row of 3 shelving units. The uprights on the end rows will be cut shorter than the middle uprights. I purchased additional uprights to use as my gable roof and will space them 3 feet apart so every 3 feet there will be a steel rail running from eave to ridge. Bought 86 cross members and 24 uprights for $3,175. Also bought a 30x50 20mill white tarp that will go from the ground on one side across the roof to the ground on the other side. Going to be able to fit one of my Yukon's in it, one of my Mercedes in it, my Bobcat in it, and my Gravely Proturn mower in it and have 27 feet of shelving 32inches wide and 10 feet high on each side, and 27 feet of shelving 14 feet high in the center. I also plan to modify it and run some cross members perpendicular to the rows at about 6 1/2 feet and maybe 8 1/2 feet. All these pieces will simply click together with the features they were designed with. So storage garage that is 30 wide and 27 long. If I wanted I could side the outside and put a roof on it.
Shelving is just like this:

Just picked up a load of pallet racking. Had to dismantle and hand load it all.

It was been 40-50 degrees, so demand has been soft.

And gas here in Pennsylvania is still just over $4 😆 Paying more but driving less.

Yeah I know.
But everyone says petroleum fuel prices are all following the same.

I’ll take a look at Ohio HO…dropped $0.38 from $6.00 last week.
